The new year has been exciting and busy, but we have still found time to gain a little life experience along the way. In January, Melanie spent a week and explored both Milan and London, while Sam and Céline enjoyed Laax, Switzerland for a few days in February.

Sam Harris and Céline Sandlin were engaged over the summer and shared their joy with many friends and family in various locations by celebrating their marriage in Laguna Beach, California; again in Munich, Germany; and finally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Honeymooning in Austria and Portugal, in the towns of Hallstätt and Sintra, was the perfect way to celebrate together.  Fun fact: Hallstätt and Sintra are both World Heritage Sites.  

Speaking of World Heritage Sites, Melanie, Céline and Sam enjoyed the warmth and charm of Old San Juan and la Fortaleza while attending the APT Conference (see also Professional Activities).  Then over Thanksgiving, Céline and Sam went back as visitors to St. George's in Bermuda, yet another World Heritage Site. 

Jessica Senker and fiancé Brian Donlen got engaged while on vacation in Napa Valley in July.  They celebrated their engagement with friends and family at the end of September and the wedding is slated for early summer of 2008.

Since graduating in May, Janine has been working hard and studying harder for her Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.  She completed the exam on October 27 and is now awaiting her results.

In the spring, Katelin Kloberg and Janine Hildebrand graduated from Drexel University and Lehigh University, respectively.  Katelin earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Interior Design, while Janine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Also in the spring, Diedra Whittenburg earned her Master of Arts degree from the College of Architecture at Cornell University, concentrating in Historic Preservation.

In June we welcomed Janine Hildebrand to the team and in July, Diedra Whittenburg joined us.  Both have proved to be valuable assets to the office.
