The Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) was contracted to provide professional services for building and collection assessments for the Civil War & Underground Railroad Museum of Philadelphia, for the stabilization of and long-term preservation plan for the collections.  CCAHA subcontracted S. Harris & Co. to conduct a physical assessment of the building that currently houses the museum.  The assessment included inspection and evaluation of the structural system; the exterior envelope, including the roof and drainage system; interior conditions; mechanical systems; and code conformance, safety and security.  Our findings were presented to CCAHA in a report, which also included recommendations.
