Springfield Grist Mill at the Morris Arboretum University of Pennsylvania

Located on the grounds of the Morris Arboretum, the Springfield Grist Mill is the oldest surviving mill in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The building, which dates back to 1854, also features an impressively preserved set of early 20th century works.  Included in this set is a horizontal water turbine manufactured by the same French company responsible for the Fairmount Waterworks.

S. Harris & Co. was asked to document the existing conditions of the mill through measured drawings and photographs.
